Why you won’t fail in your career!

What does a boy or girl plan to do after finishing school at the age of 18? The first thing that would come to anyone’s mind is to get admitted into a university, get a good grade, and then look for a good job with a handsome salary.

Great idea I’d say. No doubt about that! But let me ask you one thing. How are you going to achieve this?

“Well..I’ll choose a good subject and then will graduate on that subject. After that, I’ll look for a good job.” That’s what would be your answer right?

There are plenty of subjects and I am sure you will aim for the top demanding subjects. Because that’s the right thing to do. Suppose a boy from Bangladesh has chosen CSE (Computer Science Engineering), which is one of the most demanding subjects in Bangladesh. Around 20,000 students graduate every year from CSE in Bangladesh (Source). On average 77.1% of graduates get employed after graduation (Source). Which is a greater number than the other subjects or courses.

But the place where we mess up is in the rest of the 22.9%. Every single one of us almost forgets that university is not the place for basic education. You admit yourself to a university to become an expert in a specific course, in which you are already better. This is the sole purpose of studying in a university.

You don’t run behind people who are successful in that specific field. Instead what you have to do is to sit somewhere with a cup of coffee and think about what you have enjoyed in your school life. Which subject made you less bored (Education is boring I know XD) and you actually enjoyed learning that subject. Now look for career opportunities based on that subject. Choose a career that would be suitable for you (Take help of career aptitude tests or seek guidance from your mentor). And that’s how you can make a blueprint for your career.

Just imagine what if Virat Kohli tried to become a footballer, since football brings a lot of fame and money. But he knew his potential is in cricket and the result is in front of everyone now.

So stop idolizing other people and use your own brain to make yourself worthy to idolize.
